Tennessee Donor Services Celebrates Donate Life Month

May 1, 2024

April was National Donate Life Month, and the theme for 2024 was Donors are Super Stars! This theme was inspired by the night sky and the billions of stars that make up the universe. Stars remind us that even in the darkest night there is light. The decision to become an organ, eye and tissue donor gives hope and light to more than 100,000 people currently on the transplant waitlist.

Each year during the month of April, we celebrate donor heroes and honor their gifts of life through hospital flag raisings and donor remembrance ceremonies.

TriStar Skyline Medical Center Staff: Sam Williamson – CFO, Beverly Rawlins – Trauma ICU Manager, Lindsey Foster – TDS Hospital Development Coordinator, Mark Miller – CEO and Thomas Ozburn – Administrative Resident, celebrated the TriStar Skyline Donate Life Month Ceremony.

Throughout Donate Life Month, there are several highlighted dates to celebrate, including Living Donor Day, Blue & Green Day, National Pediatric Transplant Week, Volunteer Appreciation Week and National Donor Remembrance Day just to name a few. We were also honored to acknowledge the remarkable work that our Transplant Nurses and Healthcare Heroes do every day during Blue & Green Spirit Week.

It is our privilege to serve Tennesseans and Virginians not only during Donate Life Month, but throughout the year.
