Tennessee Donor Services Celebrates National Donate Life Month During April
May 1, 2025

Each April, Tennessee Donor Services partners with Donate Life America to observe National Donate Life Month (NDLM). It features an entire month of local, regional and national activities to help encourage Americans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors and to celebrate those who have saved lives through the gift of donation.
This year’s theme: Let Life Sing! highlighted the symbolism of birds. Birds are known across many cultures as one of the most welcomed and visible signs of spring. They represent both new beginnings and visits from loved ones who have passed away. The yearly return of birds and their songs offer us a sense of peace and hope.

Each year during the month of April, we celebrate donor heroes and honor their gifts of life through hospital flag raisings, donor remembrance ceremonies and many more activities.

Throughout Donate Life Month, there are several highlighted dates we celebrate, including:
- Living Donor Day
- Blue & Green Day
- National Pediatric Transplant Week
- Volunteer Appreciation Week
- National Donor Remembrance Day

It is our privilege to serve Tennesseans and Virginians not only during Donate Life Month, but throughout the year!
Let’s not forget that every month is an opportunity to save lives! Register to be an organ, eye and tissue donor at BeTheGiftToday.com.
