Tennessee Donor Services (TDS) was honored to receive FOUR Pinnacle Awards while attending the Donate Life America 2024 Annual Conference last week in Louisville, KY!

The Pinnacle Awards are awarded annually to recognize and share outstanding, effective and innovate programs from organizations in the Donate Life Community.

In addition to accepting these prestigious awards, we had the opportunity to connect and collaborate on new ways to save lives through organ, eye and tissue donation with other Organ Procurement Organizations from across the country!

Our FOUR Pinnacle Awards!

  1. BEST OF THE BEST: Outreach to a Diverse Multicultural Community – Promoting Equity in Donation through HBCU Medical Student Education, Tennessee Donor Services
  2. Clinical Partner Outreach – Promoting Equity in Donation through HBCU Medical Student Education, Tennessee Donor Services
  3. Fundraising – Donate Life Tennessee Donation Duck Campaign, Donate Life Tennessee and Tennessee Donor Services
  4. BEST OF THE BEST: Return on Effort (ROE) – Donate Life Tennessee Donation Duck Campaign, Donate Life Tennessee and Tennessee Donor Services

About the TDS-Meharry Medical Student Research Experience

The TDS-Meharry Medical College (MMC) Medical Student Research Experience was a first-of-its-kind program to expose students of color at an HBCU to donation and transplantation fields while also raising awareness for the medical disparities experienced by people of color. The response was positive, resulting in students presenting research at industry conferences and an increased number of applications for the 2024 cohort. The pilot is being replicated at other OPO and Donate Life agencies.

About the Donate Life Tennessee Donation Duck Campaign

The Donate Life Tennessee (DLTN) Donation Duck campaign was designed to increase donations to the Tennessee County Clerk Organ Donation Awareness Foundation (TCCODAF), re-energize the DLTN-County Clerk (CC) partnership and raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation. 60 of the 95 Tennessee CC offices participated and distributed ducks, increasing donations to TCCODAF by 15% and serving 14,500+ direct “registration asks” to Tennesseans.
