Tennessee Donor Services saves a RECORD-BREAKING number of lives in 2023

Tennessee Donor Services reached a record-breaking milestone in organ and tissue donation and transplantation. In 2023, we celebrated the impact of 506 donor heroes who made 1369 transplants possible in 2023. We also celebrated 2177 Tissue Donors with a record 1622 Musculoskeletal Donors and 306 Heart Valve Donors. Our amazing Birth Tissue team was able to receive 774 birth tissue donations this past year and through our Aftercare program we were able to help 3494 families through our Grief Coach services.
This is an incredible achievement and would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of everyone at TDS. We are so excited to see what this year will hold, and cannot wait to help save even more lives in 2024.
More than 100,000 Americans are awaiting a life-saving organ transplant, despite an average of 110 people receiving a transplant each day in the U.S. The TDS team works tirelessly to save lives for the more than 3,000 Tennesseans currently on the organ transplant waitlist.
